The swimming legend is in town as an Optus Ambassador

Swimming legend Ian Thorpe is in Bairnsdale today to help open the new Optus store on Service Street in Bairnsdale.

"The Thorpedo" is Australia's most decorated Olympian, having won 9 medals in his career, 5 of them gold.

He was on hand to cut the ribbon at the new store, as well as meet locals and sign swimming caps for local clubs.
