The BRHS CEO is advising that reducing the amount of people coming and going from the hospital reduces the risk of coronavirus transmission, and is safer for vulnerable patients.
If you have returned from oversees in the past 14 days, or if you are unwell, you are being asked not to visit the hospital.
In circumstances where a person feels they need to be at the hospital, they could consider calling the hospital, and speaking to a patients nursing team, rather than visiting the premises.
With the situation rapidly changing, people are encouraged to check brhs.com.au for updated details, as each clinical area could have specific arrangements.
BRHS’ Main Reception number is 5150 3333. For phone numbers for each of the departments and wards, visit www.brhs.com.au/health-services/
Maddocks Gardens does have computers available and can help facilitate video calls with residents via FaceTime or Skype. Call Maddocks Gardens at 5150 3659 if you’d like to arrange a video call.
If you do come to the hospital or Maddocks Gardens, you must use the alcohol-based sanitiser provided frequently, cover your mouth and nose if you sneeze or cough, and listen to and obey direction from staff.
Early indications are that the elderly and people with pre-existing medical conditions such as heart and lung disease are more at risk of experiencing severe symptoms.
