Gippsland Grammar Debaters Claim Prestigious Award

Two Gippsland Grammar debaters have been awarded a prestigious Swannie Award by the Debating Association of Victoria (DAV).

The average is calculated solely on speaker scores, and is not affected by the best speaker awards announced at the end of each debate.

The local students now travel to Melbourne on October 18 to attend a special awards ceremony where one overall winner will be announced.

DAV is a non-profit association which exists to promote debate, and is the peak debating body in Victoria and runs large competitions for adults and for schools across Victoria.

Debating is an extra-curricular activity offered at Gippsland Grammar and each year dozens and dozens of students take advantage of the skills learned by debating.
