Bushies Bakery outgrows Glengarry
It will be the end of an era on Saturday when Bushies closes its doors in Glengarry.
The business started as a bakery and pizza shop 20 years ago and was reopened by Trevor Ewert in 2011.
Bushies has since won many awards for its famous pies. Trevor and Jenah Ewert and their team have also raised many thousands of dollars for the Royal Childrens Hospital Good Friday Appeal by selling hot cross buns in a variety of intriguing flavours!
Due to size, gas and power limitations at Glengarry, Trevor has been operating a custom built commercial kitchen in Traralgon from where Bushies will continue into the future.
Trevor made the announcement on Facebook yesterday, saying "For more than 8 incredible years Glengarry’s Main Street has been our home."
"We’ve persevered with no natural gas available in the town and an electricity supply insufficient for our business needs.
"It is with great sadness that this Saturday, June 8th, we will be closing the doors of the Glengarry Bakery for the last time.
"Many of you already know that our lease has come to an end and the building is on the market. As a result, we have come to the difficult decision that our chapter in Glengarry has come to an end.
