For the third time the Stars will grace Gippsland, after Traralgon hosted the BBL 'Valley Smash' warm up match in 2017, while in January the side played their first BBL match for points, when they defeated the Adelaide Strikers comprehensively at Moe.

Ted Summerton Reserve will again host the event, with the hope to attract a large crowd to the family frienly afternoon slot (2:45pm).

Speaking at a launch event, Melbourne Stars Coach David Hussey said his side couldn't wait to play again at Moe.

"You see the shot from one end of the ground, to overlooking the Baw Baws it's a phenomenal seeing ground, I know all the players raved on about the wicket and the crowd, the atmosphere that the crowd had last year against the Adelaide Strikers was second to none, so hopefully it's not just next year but the year after and the year after that too" Hussey said.

The Stars have worked with The Latrobe Valley Authority, Latrobe City Council and Cricket Victoria to make the event possible.
